The Lonergan family has been making award winning cheese on the family farm in Knockanore since 1987 using raw unpasteurised milk from their herd of pedigree Friesian cows. Knockanore farmhouse cheese is handmade using traditional techniques – the flavour comes from the local pasture on which the cows graze producing a cheese that has a complex creamy flavour and nutty aroma. The cheese is available in mature red, white and our flagship Oakwood smoked cheddar.
We produce a range of Irish pasteurised summer milk cheddar called Bride Valley Cheese which is available in a variety of flavours including roasted onion and caraway seeds, black pepper and chives, horseradish and rosemary, garlic and herbs and sundried tomato, rosemary and black pepper.
